What is Happinose Balm Soothing Nasal Congestion Relief?
Happinose is a nasal congestion relief congestion treatment that helps to clear a blocked nose and sinuses. This works thanks to the active ingredient levomenthol, which is a decongestant that relieves a blocked or stuffy nose and makes breathing easier.
What causes a blocked nose?
A blocked nose can be caused by several different conditions. These include:
- A common cold
- Catarrh (mucus build-up in the nose and back of the throat and the sinuses)
- A head cold
- Hay fever
- Other types of allergy
A blocked nose is a side effect of these conditions and is a result of the blood vessels becoming swollen in the nose. Mucus build-up can also be a factor in a blocked nose.
Who is this Happinose Balm suitable for?
Happinose is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 5 and over. Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the balm should not use it. If you are using any other form of medication, then this balm is safe to use as there are no known issues. However, speak to a medical professional if you are unsure.
Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this balm?
There is no known negative effect when using this balm when pregnant or breastfeeding. Though, if you are unsure, speak to a doctor or pharmacist for advice before using.
How should Happinose Balm Soothing Nasal Congestion Relief be used?
Before using, blow the nose. Then apply some of the ointment onto a finger and apply in and around of each nostril. The amount you should use is dependent on the person using it. For adults, apply up to 1cm, for children aged 10 and over, use ½cm, and for children aged 5-9 use only ¼cm. You can also use this ointment on the lips, throat, chest, and between the shoulders. Apply every 4 hours as needed. Wash your hands after using. If symptoms don’t improve after 10 days, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
Are there any side effects?
There is a chance that this medication could cause an allergic reaction. Potential side effects because of an allergic reaction include:
- Itching
- Swelling
- Redness
If you notice any side effect, then stop using this ointment and speak to a doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you discover using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
